Rathpith Globe is taking a real hit in 3.29, but it is not being pushed out of the game. The shield's Spell Damage and Spell Critical Strike Chance scaling drops from 5% to 3% per 100 maximum Life, so the old "stack Life and let the shield do everything" approach will not feel the same. Still, players shopping for POE currency and planning a Life-stacking caster should not write it off. At 10,000 Life, it still offers 300% increased Spell Damage and 300% increased Spell Critical Strike Chance. That is plenty for a shield slot, just not enough to carry a half-finished build.
The awkward part is that Rathpith's downside has not become easier. Every spell use or trigger still sacrifices 10% of Life. You will notice it fast if your character has Cast when Damage Taken setups, several triggered spells, or a skill that fires off extra effects. One button press can cost much more Life than expected. That makes the new version less forgiving. You need a proper plan for the sacrifice, whether that means Dissolution of the Flesh, careful trigger choices, or enough recovery and defensive space to survive the rough moments.
The biggest rebuild is probably for crit-based spell characters. Losing 200% increased critical chance at 10,000 Life is not a tiny tooltip adjustment. Crit chance works from the spell's base value, so low-base-crit skills can suddenly feel patchy. A build that was barely holding a comfortable crit rate may need passive points, a better weapon, power charges, or crit support gems. It is also worth checking whether your damage comes from ordinary increased damage or from multipliers. Rathpith already supplies a large pile of increased damage, so gem levels, critical multiplier, exposure, resistance reduction, overlap mechanics, and "more" modifiers matter more than simply adding another small increased-damage roll.
Rathpith Globe now rewards players who actually commit to the Life-stacking idea. It is worse for a regular caster that happens to have 5,500 Life, and better for a character built from the ground up around a huge Life pool and controlled spell usage. The wider reductions to items such as The Grey Wind and Foulborn Ghostwrithe also mean the whole archetype has lost some easy power, so old builds need more than a quick number swap. If you are mapping out the transition, checking current Path of exile currency for sale options can help with budgeting, but the important part is still the build plan: fewer wasteful triggers, more real multipliers, and enough Life to make the shield earn its place.
