Changing classes in Aion 2 is one of the more flexible systems currently available in the game. Instead of forcing players to start over from level one, the Class Change feature lets you move your character progression into another main class while keeping most of your important gear upgrades intact.
For players who picked the wrong class at launch, got bored with their current role, or simply want to adapt to a new PvE or PvP meta, the system is actually pretty forgiving. That said, there are still a few important requirements and costs you need to know before pressing the button.
The feature is only available inside the major faction cities:
Once you arrive there, open the main menu and look for the [Class Change] option in the upper-right section of the interface near [AION Look].
You cannot perform the transfer out in the field or inside regular quest zones, so most players handle it while preparing gear and storage in town.
The process is fairly simple, but the game does check several conditions before allowing the transfer.
Only equipment you are actively wearing can be selected for conversion. Items sitting in inventory or storage will not automatically transfer.
Because of this, most players double-check their full setup before starting the process, especially if they use multiple weapon presets or backup PvP gear.
Every item you want to convert has to be fully soulbound to your character.
If an item is still tradable or partially unbound, the system will reject it. This catches a lot of players off guard during their first class change attempt.
The standard price for a normal class transfer is:
This is the main package fee and includes the core conversion system.
The base package covers:
For most casual players running a single main build, this package is usually enough.
Things become more expensive if you want to transfer additional gear pieces beyond the default package.
The cost is:
This mainly matters for players who maintain multiple PvE and PvP loadouts, alternate weapons, or situational resistance sets.
There is also a limit of up to 5 extra items per equipment slot category.
Because of that restriction, many players carefully choose only their best upgraded gear for conversion instead of trying to move everything.
Occasionally, the developers run special “Reorientation Events” that give players a free class transfer ticket.
During these events:
These events are extremely valuable, especially for free-to-play players or anyone still experimenting with class choices after major balance patches.
A lot of veteran players actually save their class swaps specifically for these events.
One of the best parts of the system is that most progression systems stay intact after the conversion.
Transferred equipment keeps:
This prevents the class change system from feeling like a total reset, which is a huge relief considering how expensive endgame upgrades can become.
There are still a few painful losses players should prepare for.
If your two-handed weapon uses armsfusion, the fusion is completely erased during the class transfer process.
This is probably the biggest downside for heavily geared players.
Custom cosmetic appearances attached to gear are also lost during the conversion.
Many players forget this and accidentally delete expensive skins or event cosmetics. Removing appearance data beforehand is usually the safer option.
All class-exclusive skills from your old class disappear immediately after the transfer.
Your character then receives the appropriate skills and stigmas for the new class instead.
However, general utility abilities remain unchanged, including:
So while your combat role changes completely, your basic world traversal systems stay intact.
